Grants for Master`s Programme 2010-2011 from The Universität Bern
- Applicants must have graduated by end of July 2010 with at least a Bachelor`s degree in the wished field of study
- This Bachelor`s or Master`s degree must be from a non-Swiss university
- The applicants permanent place of residence up to now must be outside of Switzerland
- Application form (see downloads)
- Curriculum vitae
- Letter of motivation with objectives
- Letter of recommendation from a professor of your current home university
- Evidence of sufficient language proficiency in German, if the study programme requires such.
- Certified copies of Bachelor Diploma and Transcript of grades obtained during Bachelor`s studies or confirmation by the home university that the Bachelor`s degree (in the same study field as the intended Master`s programme) will be completed by the end of July 2010 (with list of grades obtained up to now)
- Record of school-leaving examination (i.e. university entrance qualification)
- 2 passport photos
- Copy of passport
- Incomplete application files will not be considered!
- In 2010/11 the grant will be given to six new Master`s students. The University receives many more applications than are grants available, and will not be able to explain refusals.
- Fulfilling the above pre-conditions does not create an automatic right to a grant.

Necessary qualifications are:

* Excellent knowledge in the fields of Micro-Economic Theory and Statistics

* Excellent written and spoken German and English
* Strong interest in an academic career and influential applied research
Strong quantitative research skills
Beneficial for the position are prior experience in experimental economics and
an interest in any of the following topics: personnel and labor economics,
social norms and strategic interaction, change across the life span, and
demographic changes in society.
Job description:
* Conducting research on the above topics

Isi Iklan : The GUIPRS is designed to attract and support highly ranked international applicants during the University's annual postgraduate research scholarship round. The scheme extends the provision of tuition fees scholarships beyond the University's allocated International Postgraduate Research Scholarships (IPRS).
The GUIPRS covers tuition fees for the student and overseas student health cover (OSHC) for the student and ependant(s). No other expenses are paid by this scheme, but award recipients may seek additional funding from alternative sources.
Eligibility
The IPRS is available to international students only. Applicants must have completed, or expect to complete, four years of higher education studies at a very high level and be intending to enrol full-time in an approved doctoral or research masters program.
Part-time awards may be offered to students who, for social or medical reasons, are unable to study full-time.
Duration
The IPRS may be held for up to two years for a research masters program and up to three years for a doctoral program. A six month extension may be granted to doctoral students in certain circumstances.
